Your Will is the only way to be sure that all of your property goes to the people
and organizations you care about most. Otherwise the state will decide who gets
what without taking your needs or desires into consideration. You also get to
choose an Executor to see that your directives are carried out. •Why

Wills
Your Will lets you give specific possessions or amounts of
money away. What remains can then be gifted in designated proportions to loved
ones, friends, or charitable organizations, like Perseus House, Inc. or the Perseus
House Charter School of Excellence, Inc.
There are at least three ways
for your lawyer to draw up an amendment (or "codicil") to your Will:
- A specific bequest designates a particular property, dollar amount or percentage
of your estate for transfer to Perseus House or to the Perseus House Charter School
of Excellence.
- A residual bequest earmarks all or some of your remaining estate
for transfer to Perseus House or to the Perseus House Charter School of Excellence
after all beneficiaries (e.g. debts, taxes, other expenses) are paid.
- A contingent
bequest sets aside all or some of your estate for transfer to Perseus House or
to the Perseus House Charter School of Excellence in the event that a named beneficiary
predeceases you.
