Residential Programs

Court-Ordered Shelter: Males & Females

Shelter Program:
Erie, PA
(16 beds)
Staff at the Shelter Program work with both girls and boys from ages ten to eighteen who are awaiting disposition hearings - court judgments for delinquent behavior or because of child-welfare dependency needs. This is a 16-bed facility located at our Community Youth Services Center in downtown Erie.

Out-of-Home Treatment: Males

Boys Residential Treatment Facility (RTF):
Erie, PA (12 beds)

Staff at this facility work with delinquent and child-welfare dependent boys (ages 12-18) with possible mental health needs. This is a 12-bed facility located at our Community Youth Services Center in downtown Erie, Pennsylvania.

Boys Intensive Treatment Program (ITP):
Erie, PA (10 beds)

Staff at this facility provide individualized treatment for delinquent and child-welfare dependent boys (ages twelve to eighteen) who exhibit impairments in several areas of daily life. These areas include legal, educational, family, social, and psychological functioning, as well as problem sexual behaviors. This is a staff-secure, 10-bed facility located in downtown Erie.

Enhanced Residential Treatment Facility:
Erie, PA (6 beds)

Staff at this facility work with delinquent and child-welfare dependent boys (ages twelve to eighteen) with mental health needs that cannot be maintained in a traditional RTF setting. This is a six-bed facility located in downtown Erie.

Out-of-Home Treatment: Females

Brighter Horizons Behavioral Health:
McKean, PA (10 beds)

Staff at this facility specialize in treatment for adolescent females with diagnoses of mental illness that have had mental health inpatient admissions and are not currently a danger to themselves or others (ages twelve to eighteen). We accept adolescents adjudicated dependent and voluntary mental health only placements for treatment of recovery from neglect, physical and sexual abuse, self-harm, and trauma. We require intensive famly involvement and discharge planning begins before the client is accepted for placement.

This is one of our two 12-bed facilities located in rural Spartansburg, Pennsylvania. The grounds at these facilities also provide additional recreational space for the girls.

Florence Crittenton Division:
Erie, PA (14 beds)

Programming offered by this nearly 100-year old facility includes:

  • Maternity Program - 24-hour residential care for single pregnant females offering case management, health care and education; personal living skills training; social development and adjustment. Services are also available to each girl's family and to the expectant father.

  • Mother-Baby Program - 24-hour residential care and treatment program offering young mothers the opportunity to learn how to care for their child in a responsible manner, while in an environment that promotes the welfare and development of both mother and child. Aftercare services are available to previous residents for at least a year after discharge. (Outreach services are also offered to single mothers who were not previously in the Mother-Baby residential program.)
